This policy explains what Vekkoa ("the app," "we," "us") does and does not do with your information. We've written it in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, that's our fault, not yours, and you're welcome to ask.
When you use Vekkoa to scan rooms, save a home, or view guidance, all of that information is stored locally on your device only (in your browser's local storage), never transmitted to us or anyone else. If you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, this information is permanently deleted — we don't have a copy, so we can't restore it for you.
If you choose to list yourself as a Vastu or Feng Shui practitioner, we collect:
This information is used to display your public profile in the directory and to allow us to verify you before approving your listing.
When you start or join a secure chat/voice session, our signaling server temporarily relays connection information (not message content or audio) between the two devices so they can connect directly. This technical connection data is not stored after the session ends. Message text and voice audio are end-to-end encrypted and travel directly between the two devices — they never pass through, or get stored on, any server we operate.
Vekkoa is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
If you're in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection). If you're in California, you have rights under the CCPA. We honor these rights for all users regardless of location, as a matter of practice, not just where legally required.
Vekkoa contains no advertisements and never will, in any form — no ad networks, no sponsored content, no third-party ad SDKs of any kind. Nothing in this app is funded by or shares your data with advertisers. This isn't a current policy that could change quietly — it's a structural commitment, and any future update that introduced ads would require rewriting this policy explicitly and telling you directly, not burying it in fine print.
We use HTTPS encryption for all connections to our website and signaling server. Secure consultation sessions use end-to-end encryption (DTLS/SRTP via WebRTC), meaning the content is unreadable even to us. Practitioner verification documents are stored securely and accessed only for the purpose of verification.
No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we've deliberately designed this app to minimize what could ever be exposed in the first place, by keeping your personal home data off our servers entirely.
If we make material changes to this policy — especially if we start storing more data on a server (for example, if the practitioner directory moves from local storage to a shared backend) — we will update this page and note the date, and where appropriate, notify users in the app.
